考研英语作文小作文之报告
考研英语中大作文的要求是内容切题、表达清楚、文字连贯、句式多变和语言规范。小作文考察点在信息点的覆盖、语言的准确性、文章组织的连贯性上。
其中小作文占10分，分为求职信、祝贺信、道歉信、询问信、推荐信、感谢信、邀请信、辞职信等等二十多种应用文。每个类别都有相对固定的语言模式，都有固定词语要求。
报告是下级部门就某件事情向上级部门和领导回报工作、反映情况、提出建议等使用的上行公文。就其内容实质来说，可分为信息类报告和分析类报告。
信息类报告在日常事务中经常发生，其目的是通报信息和情况，一般要求准确、正确、完整、简明扼要。分析类报告在语言和格式上则更加正式、复杂，其目的在于对某问题或情况进行调查、研究、分析、评估或论证后提出结论，篇幅一般较长。
注意：
写好一份报告，撰写人首先要对所要写的内容有充分的了解。写作时，应尽量多用被动语态，少用第一人称，以免主观、冒昧。

Directions： You have just been asked to make a check on the water supply facilities accessible on campus and found that the faucets in some student dormitories are leaking of broken. I have made a check on the water supply facilities accessible on campus in May 2011 to help ease the water shortage problem.
Most of the hardware works all right but some facilities are problematic. Water keeps dripping day and night in 20 student bathrooms for many weeks and at least 12 tons of water is wasted every day.
I suggest that effective measures be taken to conserve water， including replacing all old water faucets， installing water meter for individual users and enhancing the public awareness of water-saving.
