长难句突破之并列句的种类
两个或两个以上的简单句通过并列连词连在一起构成的句子，称为并列句，其基本结构是“简单句＋并列连词＋简单句”。并列连词有：以and表示并列递进关系，以but表示转折关系，以or为代表的表示选择关系，以so为代表的表示因果关系等。并列句中的各简单句意义、地位和重要性相同，不分高低先后，相互之间没有从属关系，是平行并列关系，因此叫并列句，下面我们就来详细学习一下它们的种类。
1.并列递进关系
both…and…二者都……；either…or…或者……或者……；neither…nor…既不……也不……；as well as也、连同；not only…but（also）…不但……而且……
【例句】
The picture is thought-provoking， and what it illustrates and tries to convey is a common phenomenon in contemporary society.这幅画发人深省，它描绘的和想要表达的是当今社会的一种普遍现象。
When a pair of couple has a row with each other， there are problems and responsibilities not only with the husband’s side， but also with the wife’s side.当夫妻二人吵架时，不仅丈夫有问题，妻子也有责任。
2.转折关系
but但是；yet然而；still仍然；while然而、偏偏；whereas反之；nonetheless/ nevertheless然而，不过；however然而，可是
【例句】
There is no doubt that cultural integration has brought benefits to us， but we should take a right attitude to it， discarding the dross and selecting the essence.毫无疑问，文化整合已经给我们带来了益处，但我们应采取正确的态度：去其糟粕，取其精华。
Diamond mining is a highly profitable industry. There are， however， certain risks involved.钻石开采是个高利润的产业，但其中也有某些风险。
3.选择关系
or或者；or else否则；otherwise否则；neither…nor…既不……也不……；either…or…或者……或者……
【例句】
We must take the problem seriously， or it will have bad influence on society.我们必须认真对待这个问题，否则它将会对社会造成不良影响。
The worrying trend has to be halted. Otherwise， many people will fall victim to it.必须阻止这种令人担忧的趋势，否则许多人将成为这种风气的牺牲品。
4.因果关系
so所以；therefore所以，因此；thus因此；for因为；then然后
【例句】We should pay attention to the environmental problem， for it is very important to us human beings.我们应该注意环境问题，因为环境对我们人类非常重要。
所谓长难句不过是因为结构复杂一些，修饰词多了一些，但是最基本的东西都是一样的，学会提炼关键词和解构句式，再难的长句也不是问题。
